ACTIVE CHIROPRACTIC STAFFORD

Biomechanical Assessment

Our chiropractors use biomechanics assessments to identify patterns in the way you move that are causing your injury.

What can a biomechanics assessment help with?

THE WHAT

What is a Biomechanics assessment?

We use biomechanics assessments to look for issues in your posture and movement, with particular focus on legs and feet. Our chiropractors analyse the way you move and how your body functions during activity and sport.

We use the latest technology to look at alignment, muscle strength and any potential weaknesses in the lower body. This helps us to identify any abnormal motion patterns that could be causing your mobility issues or injury.

THE HOW

Chiropractic Techniques

What happens in a biomechanics assessment?

During your first consultation, we’ll go through your relevant medical history. Our chiropractor will perform an examination and discuss the findings with you. The chiropractor will then discuss a personalised treatment plan with you, including whether they think you would benefit from custom orthotic insoles.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

It can be useful to bring the shoes you usually wear daily, and any sports trainers or work footwear. If you currently have any orthotics or insoles, please bring those too.

THE WHY

Why Choose Active Chiropractic In Stafford?

During your first consultation, we’ll go through your relevant medical history. Your treatment therapist will perform an examination and discuss the findings with you. They might recommend other diagnosis services, like an ultrasound, blood tests or biomechanical assessment. The chiropractor will then discuss a personalised treatment plan with you.

Common Questions

Who can benefit from a biomechanics assessment?
Biomechanics assessments are suitable for people of all ages and activity levels. Whether you are recovering from injury, experiencing persistent pain, training for sport, or simply looking to improve your posture, our tailored approach can help.

What should I wear?
For the most accurate assessment, we recommend wearing comfortable clothing that allows free movement — such as shorts, leggings, or sportswear. Please also bring your everyday footwear and any trainers or work shoes you use frequently.

How long do appointments last?

  • Initial Consultation: Around 45 minutes, including history, assessment, and treatment.
  • Follow-up Treatments: Usually 20–30 minutes, depending on your treatment plan.
  • Custom Orthotics: After your initial assessment, we will book a fitting appointment approximately one week later.

What results should I expect?
Most patients notice improvements in movement and reduction in discomfort after just a few sessions. Longer-term benefits include improved performance, reduced risk of injury, and better overall posture.

Are orthotics always required?
Not every patient needs custom orthotics. They are only recommended if we identify abnormal foot mechanics or gait issues that would benefit from extra support.

Is the assessment safe?
Yes. All assessments and treatments are carried out by fully qualified chiropractors, using safe, evidence-based techniques designed to support your health and recovery.
