ACTIVE CHIROPRACTIC STAFFORD
Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Mild Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (mHBOT) is a therapy treatment that involves breathing pure oxygen in a pressurised chamber. This therapy increases the amount of oxygen in the blood, allowing it to reach tissues and organs more effectively.
How can oxygen therapy help?
- Amplifies Healing and Recovery
- Enhances the Effects of Other Therapies
- Supports Immune Health
- Faster injury recovery
THE WHAT
What is oxygen therapy?
Normally, the air we breathe contains about 21% oxygen at standard atmospheric pressure. In HBOT, the air pressure is increased to 1.5–3 times higher than normal atmospheric pressure. Under these conditions, your lungs can take in much more oxygen than usual, and this oxygen gets dissolved directly into the blood plasma, tissues, and bodily fluids.
What issues can Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy treat?
- Sports injuries (muscle and ligament recovery)
- Fibromyalgia
- Chronic fatigue syndrome

THE HOW
What happens in a Hyperbaric Oxygen session?
During your initial consultation, we’ll review your medical history, perform an examination, and discuss our findings with you.
Treatment is carried out using a Hyperbaric Oxygen chamber which is completely non-invasive. The chamber is sealed and slowly pressurized to 1.5–3 times normal air pressure (like going underwater). The therapy is painless, you’ll feel pressure changes in your ears, similar to being on an airplane. Swallowing, yawning, or chewing helps equalize this.
Once at full pressure, you’ll breathe 100% medical-grade oxygen. Sessions usually last 60–120 minutes, depending on the size of the area and the condition being treated.
How many sessions would I need?
Multiple sessions are often prescribed typically 20–40 treatments depending on the condition.
THE WHY
Why Choose Active Chiropractic In Stafford?
During your first consultation, we’ll go through your relevant medical history. Your treatment therapist will perform an examination and discuss the findings with you. They might recommend other diagnosis services, like an ultrasound, blood tests or biomechanical assessment. The chiropractor will then discuss a personalised treatment plan with you.
